İzmir City Archives and Museum
This building, which served as the Izmir Fire Department from 1932 to 2001, began operating as the City Archive and Museum in 2004. It is named after Ahmet Piristina, the mayor of Izmir at the time, and also serves as an archive. The bookstore section of the museum offers books printed by the Izmir Municipality Bookstore about various aspects of Izmir, including detailed information on the city’s history. In the courtyard of the museum, most of the National Library’s periodicals and newspapers are sold.
