The Izmir History and Art Museum, which began service in Kulturpark in 2004, presents unique and valuable works discovered in excavations in Izmir and its surroundings to visitors.

 

The Museum’s Ceramic Pieces Area displays works from the Prehistoric, Archaic, Classic, Hellenistic and Roman Eras and the Byzantine Era, collected from excavations in Izmir and its surrounding area. The pieces on display include ceramics, pottery and terra cotta figurines. The collection includes examples of various techniques, such as black and red figure painting, reliefs, and molding. The museum also has a collection of glass pieces from the same time periods, including bottles, cups, and vases.

 

The Precious Pieces Area displays oil lamps, figurines, glass pieces, bronze pieces, and a collection of coins from various eras. The museum is a valuable resource for those interested in the history and art of Izmir and its surrounding area.
